Of course, be prepared to lose money in these practice poker games, after all you are just a beginner, compared to the more advanced poker players you play with. It will not also do you much good if you only play with players of your same level, because they will not be able to challenge you a lot, as compared to the more advanced ones. Sure, read the books, after all the basics of poker can be read in book. But the style and strategies in poker are better learned in actual poker games.
